Any way to combine two addons? (self.Blind)
submitted by ChipsAhoiMcCoy
Hey guys! I'm attempting to make a game that isn't natively accessible more accesible, and one solution that I came up with was to use the Lion addon, and there was another addon that I was yesterday called ObjectNavigationSound or something like that, and I think if these two were to pair together it would be phenominal. I don't think this would be simple though, and would require some knowledge of python I assume, but is this something that would be possible? The idea would be Lion finds the text, and the sound addon gives you a rough idea of where that object is relative to your screen/character position. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Simple answer: It's possible to combine, and do whatever we want with opensource addons. And yes, as you said, some serious python will bee needed to make it happen. Don't think if I just paste contents of both addons in to 1 folder and zip it up, and my work would be over.

The key assumption being that the text is on the object which you want to click on, or get the info about. In games though, the popups seem to happen randumly, on screen, anywhere, not necessarily on the object that you are supposed to interact with. This is due to need to keep UI looking good, or, to keep the game environment visible while still showing textual info.

Sometimes, it may happen that the text may be on the object you do want to interact with. In that case, good for ya. But, in games like GTA5, where the camera moves and the textual popups and instructions stay on your screen, there's high chance that the text will not be closer to the interactive object.

This is a fair point one example of a game that would be great with us though is path of exile the game I’m currently playing where each model and the game is labeled and the object that is interactivable is right below the label this would be a very nice plug-in if influented correctly I think
