Something that fascinates me is "what blind people see" (self.Blind)

Depends on the person and their blindness. Most people will still have remaining vision, so they will see something similar to you, but much lower quality. Some have tunnel vision, some have blurred central vision, and some will just be lower all around, but can see large print. Only 15% are totally blind, and I can’t fully speak for them. But, for a fun fact, some of these individuals will actually see hallucinations. (Charles Bonnet syndrome, if you’re interested. It’s pretty cool!)

In our case, my husband sees nothing from one eye due to a surgery this last year. I’ll have to ask him when I get the chance, but I’m pretty sure he would describe it as absolutely nothing for that eye. There’s no input, and you can’t really describe something that doesn’t exist.

That's really interesting thank you!! I just can't understand how it can be nothing, because you would imagine nothing being pitch black right? If a person who is 100% blind, how can they "see" nothing?

Put it this way, there is no signal to the brain, so you would literally see nothing

It's really difficult to imagine that. Because i, my whole life have seen things. I don't know how blind you are. I don't know what it's like to be blind, and that's what fascinates me. I just can't imagine what nothing looks like. I think the only way i would know is if i was blind myself. Like 100% blind.

I went from being fully cited, to totally blind. That includes having the one eyeball that had function removed, so there is absolutely no input from it. It’s just about the same as having your eyes closed, not much difference.

It’s not really black, it’s more of a gray look. Like I said, it’s about the same as having your eyes closed all the time.

Probably, yeah. I can see light and outlines so I’m lucky in that way.

If I asked you what do you see with your ear you would say nothing that's exactly what blind people see the same thing you see with your ear, nothing

That's the hard part. I have seen things my whole life and trying to imagine nothing is just impossible. While you have been blind your whole life right? It just doesn't intertwine.

No I was cited for 18 years and now I have some light perception but I think that nothingness is the same as seeing with a part of your body that doesn't see for example what can you see behind you with the back of your head nothing it just doesn't exist

So, just black? It's just not possible for me to imagine"nothing". Because i've never experienced it. I'm just really curious.

Yeah you're right it's pretty hard to imagine nothingness because when you imagine you're imagining something you cannot imagine nothing
