Which currently-available Lego sets would you like access to? (self.Blind)
submitted by Motya105
I’ll be adding new instructions to the Lego For The Blind website, and am trying to figure out which currently-available Lego sets people would like to build. I’ll be making polls on the website so that blind builders can vote for which sets they’d like to be made accessible. Thanks for any insight!

I think there’s a Saturn v Lego model? I would love to build that one

There are a few official NASA sets that are great.

* The Saturn V
* The Lunar Lander
* The ISS
* The Discovery
* A smaller "Women of NASA" set

Of those, I think the ISS is the most challenging build, because it's quite delicate in places. The Sat V can be a bit prone to coming apart into its stages (it's a feature, not a bug), and the lander doesn't actually mount to its base, so you need to be careful with it. Discovery requires application of stickers (can't remember about the others).

They're all great sets, though. It would be cool to see them all get accessible instructions.

I’m working on the Lunar Lander. I’ll keep the ISS, Saturn V, and Discovery in mind. I’ve heard that the Discovery has a lot of stickers, but it would still be cool to adapt it. I’ll keep you posted on those sets.

Thanks. I’ll note it down, and will let you know once text-based instructions are available for it.

The giant hog warts set plz??
Motya105 [OP] 2 points 1y ago
Just to confirm, do you mean set 71043? It’s massive, with over six thousand pieces, so adaptation would take a while— I’ll see what I can do.
FiverNZen 1 points 1y ago
Sorry — yes that one. I completely understand and don’t expect it anytime soon tbh 😂 it’s a lot of fun though. Thank you for considering it!

Any chance you can do 31109 Pirate Ship?
Motya105 [OP] 6 points 1y ago
I’m working on it— I’ll let you know once it’s ready.

Fantastic! Thank you very much

>Download one of the text-based instructions.

that link on the site just lands back on the website homepage without going to the available list of instructions.
Motya105 [OP] 3 points 1y ago
If you go to legofortheblind.com and click on the Instructions link, the page should display a list of sets. Clicking on a set will open a page with a description of it, and a link to download instructions. Have you tried the site with a different web browser? I’ve tested the site with Internet Explorer and Safari, and everything works as expected.

Sorry, I don't have any exact numbers off the top of my head, but any Star Wars ones that are available currently. Found one that I wanted to build and found that it may have been retired, unfortunately. Keep up the great work.
Motya105 [OP] 3 points 1y ago
I’ll keep Star Wars sets in mind. Which set did you want to build? I might be able to adapt it even if it’s retired.
SightlessKombat 1 points 1y ago
The set I'd planned to build was $1 but that was only because that was a cheap looking but still substantial build as a trial run.
Motya105 [OP] 1 points 1y ago
I found one on eBay for slightly above retail price: https://www.ebay.com/itm/324338775769?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=N-eTnIxYS2e&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=MoQquDuKRCa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY You could also look on BrickLink, which is an on-line Lego marketplace.

Unfortunately it seems the link you've directed me to is US-centric, I'm in the UK in case you weren't aware. I'll keep looking but if I can find a better set than that for the price in the Star Wars line then I'd be interested in working with that.

The space shuttle
Motya105 [OP] 1 points 1y ago
Lego has multiple spase shutles out. Do you mean the Space Shutle Discovery set?
CloudsOfMagellan 1 points 1y ago
I believe so yes, I didn't know they had multiple
samarositz 1 points 1y ago
How about the ISS, I'd like to try building that. $1

Maybe the White House. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/the-white-house-21054
Motya105 [OP] 1 points 1y ago
I’ll keep the ISS and White House in mind.

Just got the Fender Stratocaster as a gift. Never built anything by myself again.
Also have the Harry Potter clock tower set sitting to one side unfinished.
Rhymershouse 1 points 1y ago
The Lego Super Mario sets? Any of them. Thank you for this site! I didn’t know it was a thing!
