Accessible reddit client for windows (self.Blind)
submitted by Gotluv1
Hi. Can anyone recommend an accessible reddit client for windows? I'm running windows 10. Not that it really matters I guess. But just in case. Or do you just use the reddit website? Thanks.

I use Reddit For Blind. Luna for Reddit by Nathan Tech is new, but another option to consider

I prefer reddit for the blind, all one word, there’s one from Nathan tech called Luna but it’s a bit slower in my opinion.

The first one is faster because it is a terminal like interface, you can still arrow up and down and do that kind of stuff, but it’s not a gui based program. The Luna one is and that’s why it’s slower in my opinion, keep in mind I don’t know much about programming so I could be completely wrong.

It's actually called RedditForBlind.

Thanks :) I was using dictation and did mention it was all one word but it's nice to write it out like that for coppying.

Likewise, chrome with windows and NVDA, in card view. Each heading becomes a post, down arrow then reads the post, depending on the length, perhaps just a preview, and if I'm interested, I shift enter to then open in a new tab, at which point I can comment or read comments. Vote buttons also show up properly in card view without having to open the post in a new tab. Chrome also gives push notifications if set up right.

Also to skip to subs, one can put r/subname (subname refers to the sub, blind for example) after $1 in the address bar. I'd definitely recommend taking the time to analyse the reddit structure and learn it via the browser. It will probably be the best investment in the long run.

I mostly use $1 on chrome to type out replies. For navigating, NVDA's text nav addon becomes very useful as it allows me to jump from 1 comment to another without looking all that buttons mess in the middle.

If you don't want to reply, may be having RSS feeds of your subreddits in thunderbird might help.
