Does anyone else always wear shoes? (self.Blind)
submitted by ParksDontBsuspicious
If I try to walk around my house without shoes on I will stub my toes on furnature in just a few minutes. Anyone else the same way?

I usually don't wear shoes when I can get away with it because I like to feel what I am walking on. Unless it's a lego. That shit can go die.

Not inside the house because I like the feedback under my feet, like a rug telling me I’m at the dining table so I can head to the kitchen

So, you're seeing the world the same way as Toph from The Last Airbender when you're in your house?
CosmicBunny97 1 points 1y ago
Haha, yes I guess you could say that :)

I am exactly the opposite! I have always been barefoot inside, despite my parents' disapproval. Feels better that way, and feeling the change of tile beneath my feet is another kind of navigation help.

Granted, there have been messy situations, as is expected in a household with cats. But stubbed toes? No, I don't think I've had all that many of those.

Yeah. Crocs are your friend.

Not shoes, but socks. I think it's more to do with my feet repulsion than actual blindness, though.

Shues not allowed in our house. We do stubb our tows, even sighted family members, but, shues never allowed.

I guess after a certain threshold of stubbing your tows is reached, your feets kind of get the memo that they have to be careful in certain areas. If the problem is very serious, consider rapping some cloth around the feets of the furniture, it might not look good, but, until you are orianted well enough with the house, your tows will be thanking those cloth rags.

If you are doing that I suggest you learn to navigate and memorize your own house better. I know where everything is. I wear shoes because dog fur is everywhere, and will stick to my feet.

Negative. Even when was completely blind I didn't have any issues except the odd stepping in cat puke (which stil happens with my recovered limited vision).
