Lazarillo is pretty good.
Also on Google maps under navigation settings is a Walking Directions give more detail directions toggle.
Edit: Upper right corner > Settings > Navigation Settings > Scroll all the way to bottom > Walking Directions > Toggle the detailed talking Directions on.

Hmm I don't think it matters Samsung Pixel or not.
Pretty sure it was added Android 11 even. Do you have Uninstalled app updates maybe? I've had some get stuck and had to go manually install them from the store.

Oh you have automatic disabled. May want to force update just for Maps then.

Yes in US and its right under the Live View toggle so you in the right place where it should be.
Are you not in US? I can check. I know there are a few regions it isn't enabled yet.
But I know Japan (they basically made the feature in Tokyo), most of Europe, and US have it now.

Wewalk app use to be amazing, but they have a subscription model now. It must be still amazing, but, damn subscription. Guess they've got to earn some money.
