How do I access my email on BrailleSense 6 with Google's new two-step verification? (self.Blind)
submitted by BexTheMixer
Does anyone know how I can access my email on my BrailleSense 6 now that Google has started using the two-step verification thingy? I don't have that turned on yet. And it's weird, they said they were gonna do that on like May 31st but I was able to access my email fine until today. Now it's saying invalid username or password whenever I try, but I know that's not true. What's also weird is I can still access Google Drive just fine, but I can't access my actual email in the email program. I know I'm not the only one with a device like a Polaris or a Braillenote that needs to access email through the less secure thingy, so how have HIMS and HumanWare combated this?
Sorry for my ineloquent language LOL, I don't know the propper terms for stuff.

Looks like it is an Android 10 device. You should be able to set it up as a $1. Trusted devices get to bypass second step verification unless it triggers a suspicious activity alert.

You might also be able to go the $1 route as an alternative. Most new Android devices have a built in security key you can likely use for this but you can $1 if necessary

You need to change 2step to phone code autho rather than the 2LA because it changes so fast. damn I'm not sure how to fix this issues.

An $1 may work.

Do you need to use a computer for any of that?

I don't know how capable the BrailleSense is, but if it has a standard web browser, you can use it to generate the app password. No matter what you use to generate it, you'd just use the app password instead of your Google password to log into the device's mail client.
