SSA Ticket to Work Program? (self.Blind)
submitted by BlueIr1ses
Does anyone have experience with the Ticket to Work program? I am currently on SSDI for my visual impairment and some other health problems and the program looks interesting. However, I was just reading some pretty negative comments about it on the Disability sub. I don't think I qualify for my state's Commission for the Blind vocation rehab because I'm not legally blind (yet?). I would love any feedback - thanks!

Hey! I work for an employment network, i would say the negative comments on the TTW program are mainly those that misunderstand or are given misinformation about it and unfortunately end up in overpayments. One good thing about it is that while you have an "in use" ticket, meaning it's assigned to an employment network or vocational rehab, SSA will not perform medical reviews just as long as you are meeting the goals of the program.

You also have plenty of work incentives available but all varies on the benefit you are receiving, SSI or SSDI. So of you don't mind me asking, which one are you getting? Or both?
