How exactly would I do this with NVDA?(self.Blind)
submitted by ChipsAhoiMcCoy
I want to get into the MUD game genre, but in these games you need to be able to read the text in the command input w indow in realtime. I know I have seen something in NVDA about reading updating windows of text, but it only seems to work on select sites. Am I doing something wrong? For example, on Twitch, NVDA will automatically read the chat room when someone sends a message, but that same feature doesn't seem tow ork on Achaea, the MUD I'm trying out.
Thoughts?

You might wanna look at Mush z and. Aultareon. It’s a sound pack and mud. I’m not into muds these days, but it’s not bad.

I’ve had success with MushClient and a couple of MUDs there. Granted, they all suggested their own best configuration for screen reader friendliness. But they did provide direct downloads for these.
There is also VIP MUD too. But I believe it’s a paid product.

Seconding MUSHclient. There's a nice setup pre-talking version $1, although it's abit old. You could just grab the talking bits from it and put them in the very latest version if you needed an upgrade.

Muds are text based games right?

Correct. MUDs are mostly text based multi user real time games.
