Did BeSpecular shut down? (self.Blind)

I am a seeing individual but I LOVED using the BeSpecular app to help people. I’ve recently noticed the app no longer works and it’s been removed from the US iOS App Store. Has the company shut down?

Use be my eyes you can still help people there and it’s very good. There’s a lot of users and volunteers.

It’s a shame. Apparently it was a grad student project and was abandoned some time in 2016.
Apple did a mass culling of old apps some time in the past year and that’s probably what put the nail in the coffin. It’s still on the play store.
People have tried to reach out to the devs on LinkedIn and such to no avail.
