Is there anyone who’s blind and christian and would you be interested in a flaire tag on here or a sub? (self.Blind)
submitted by SiriuslyGranger
There are groups of blind christians on facebook but not on reddit. I am wondering if there is a blind sub that is already devoted to Christians who are blind.

If not is anyone also blind and christian and would like to fellowship around christianity dealing with your blindness or how it effects your walk with Christ or even maybe enhances it.

Thanks!

Peace and grace to you all!

I think you might have more luck on the Christian subs asking if there is a blind Christian or disabled Christian sub, just because that will probably reach a wider audience, so better chance of find information some who knows about such a thing, if it exists. I don’t know if one, but I also haven’t specifically sought that out. So, there might be something, but it also might be so niche that there isn’t one or it’s inactive.

Maybe but wondering if a blind one specifically would be possible the blind christian groups are pretty big on facebook.

I could do that that would be one way to go about it but it would be more disability in general.

I also don’t talk about my blindness in other subs because its not always relevant.

Just like religion isn't relevant here either. It's a blind sub, not a religion sub

I actually do talk about it, at least to say I'm blind. There are a lot of video posts and I kinda get behind on the conversation if no description is provided.

Nothing wrong with mentioning it when it's relevant.

Op just wants to use /r/blind as a new crowd to preach his religion too.

You can customize most if not all of the flair yourself, eg what I just did for this post.
SiriuslyGranger [OP] -6 points 1y ago
Ah, I see. Thanks.

Yeah, it'll save just for your flair choice, was looking at the flair settings and saw that was allowed. So you should actually be able to make one for yourself, I just tacked onto the inspiration one, but could've made a full new one just for myself. I will see about a general Religion or some something one for the sub being made though, couldn't hurt.

No it really couldn’t and it wouldn’t be preaching but how it relates to blindness could be church related or hey this has helped me in being blind I think it’s a gift whatever. No it shouldn’t be like today I want to talk about scripture what I did the other day could be under that.

If its church related at all its gonna come back to scripture one way or another, you folks always do. Just saying. Also someone else said something similar but why not just go to r/Christianity and ask if there are any other blind christians here? Might find a few.

You should consider creating such a community. And I mean that seriously. I know there is a big religious community who is blind and they'd probably love to have someone take the initiative and moderate a community like you are talking about.

At the same time, you wouldn't need to worry about all the discussions becoming controversial or possibly triggering to people who have had more negative experiences with religion, which a lot of the DA community, I think, has.

Been blind my whole life and yes, I've had plenty of annoying to say the least experiences with extremely religious folks.

Ditto. I wish I could say it never brings me down, but the truth of the matter is it can really mess with your head.

If all those fuckers would respect me when I say no and leave me the hell alone, maybe things would be different. But one can only be prayed for so many times and be told "I feel sorry for you" so many times. That sort of feel good shit gets old real fast.
