Discord and clarification regarding Voice rooms. (self.Blind)

As many of you are already aware r/blind maintains a $1 which is where we chat and have regular scheduled voice get togethers. However, it has been brought to my attention that the phrasing of the event postings may suggest that the voice rooms are only available at those times which is not correct. The voice rooms are always available for anyone to use, and we have recently added a few capacity limited rooms for anyone who wishes to host their own events in,, and if needed the mods are always happy to create posted event listings for any such things in discord’s event list. Sorry if the previous posts about the voice events had confused anyone about all of this, and we hope to see you all on the discord if you are so inclined.

It's pretty good and getting better, most of the major issues with missing labels on iOS and I beleive macOS have been fixed, and it works even better on android and windows. Additionally we actually had the lead for discords accessibility team join the server last week or so and they have been very helpful.

Is it ok for me to add that in rural areas, you're mileage may vary? Only chiming in because I've been trying discord since I started going blind, and we regularly have it lock up or shut down altogether. However, that's definitely due to the fact that we have like, two bars of service out here at best. My oldest son is trying to find me a program that's more reliable, but no dice so far. We're on Windows, for what it's worth.

Yeah as you said that is likely more a matter of poor connection stability, while the text chat is probably gonna be better consistency wise don’t feel like you cannot pop into a voice chat. As for more reliable options I am not really sure as they would all most likely have the same issues.

Thanks for the clarification and making it clear I always thought you should make a post like this. Hopefully more people will use the voice rooms or even organize events themselves.

Yep hopefully, and as I mentioned if people need their events to also be added to the discord event function they just need to ask.
