Hi everyone! I hope this is a good place to post, since this is about accessibility advocacy. I posted this in r/utau as well.
I am visually impaired to the point where I have to use a screen reader to operate my devices. I've been keeping tabs on the Utau/Vocaloid/Synth V communities for a few years now, and I love everything about these programs. I've always wanted to make use of them myself to release my own music. Unfortunately, I'm unable to use them because they're not accessible to screen readers. In Open Utau there is a custom GUI, and my screen reader can't read it at all whatsoever. In Utau I can navigate between controls using the tab key, but all of the controls are unlabeled. You still have to use the mouse a lot, because there aren't very many keyboard commands when it comes to adding notes and adjusting parameters.
This is an unfortunate situation for those of us who want to use these programs. However, together with the help of the blind community and the various singing synth communities, I would love to make a change, for the benefit of all people with visual impairments who want to use this singing synthesizer programs. I have submitted an issue on the Open Utau Github page, and I would love it if you, my fellow community members, could support this endeavor to make the world of singing synthesizers a more accessible place to share our creativity. Any help you could give is much appreciated.
