Question for app project (self.Blind)
submitted by SnapshotDesigns
Hi, I’m working on a project where I’ll be designing a movie ticket app and I had a couple questions on what the experience is for blind people when purchasing movie tickets through apps/online. When picking a seat, does your phone tell you how big the theater is, or where to click to find an accessible seat? Any info would be really helpful, I want this app to be great.

Yeah, usually seat selection is not accessible. Maybe you can put that stuff in a combo box and briefly describe the position. Instead of laying it out visually and then having people choose.

Hi, I've not been to the cinema/theatre in ages, but wanted to let you know about applevis.com you can look their for developer stuff and also ask your questions.

An "accessible" seat is different for each person, given their level of vision, requirements (if they need audio description) etc. In my experience, I've never found an accessible seat selection process for cinemas (UK here), but seeing one would be a great first step, even if it were say a 2 part process - select row then seat number only showing available options).
