It's so strange to me that parents and kids don't sit together on US plane flights and that this has to be added to a thing explaining why this is a good idea.

The last time we flew I was with our daughter and my husband was seated next to our eight-month-old son. At the last minute before we boarded the airline moved him to a different seat, unexpected our eight month old baby to sit alone?? It was a huge hassle trying to get it back.

Wow, that’s just stupidly insane.

They're charging more and more for the "privilege" to choose seats - for a family it could add another ticket or two in terms of cost.

Strange.

You say strange, we say "capitalism" but we don't like it either.

I didn’t think of that, yeah that makes sense.

what sort of country lets you even book a plain ticket for an 11 month old child without an accompanying adult seat?
