VO on iPhone: How to use on Instagram? (self.Blind)

Hello everyone,
I'm turning to your super supportive community again with a question. At work I'm trying to check whether our Social Media posts are done correctly. I'd like to check the alternative texts with Voice Over on my iPhone (iOS 15, iPhone 11, German Language).
Here's the thing: On Twitter it works great! But on Instagram (and LinkedIn, didn't even try Facebook yet) it gives me an obviously automated description, despite im almost 100% certain people did set an alternative text.
What am I doing wrong? When double clicking on the picture VO gives me so many Information on how to navigate through the pictures, but only starts telling me about what the picture is actually showing later.

I'm certain it also does that for images with alternative texts, cause I test it on Instagram profiles about digital accessibility.

If anyone of you is a content creator: I'd love a video on how to use VO to check whether Social MEdia Posting are accessible. Maybe I drown in bullshit YouTube recommendation and can't find what what already exists. Can you please help me? :)

I'm not completely sure but I've always had trouble with Instagram as a VO user. It may not be you at all but the app itself.

That's good and disappointing to hear. Good in the sense that I'm not doing it all wrong, and disappointing cause that's not really an okay status quo?!
Tried Talk Back on Android now as well, same problem! Is insta so terribly unaccessible? Why bother giving the option of alternative texts if they aren't read with the most common mobile AT? 🧐
