I am tired of not knowing if someone left a light on after they visited. I end up walking through the house using Seeing AI. I would also like to set lights on a timer for the roomba. What has everyone found to be the most accessible?

Run any smart bulb or a light fixture through a smart plug and connect it with Alexa or Google Home. Then you can just say a command to turn off all lights or any one specifically.

In the long run I may connect smart switches, but a lot of my lights are three way switches. That only adds to the excitement. Anyway, in such cases, smart plugs don’t do much good.

How good of a job does Seeing AI work for you when you need to navigate around your house?

I only use it for detecting light sources to turn off.

I imagine OP meant using the light channel to detect illumination rather than using it as any sort of navigational aid.

philips hue bulbs controlled by google nest speakers. i may not be able to see the colors or when the lights are on or off, but i can't at least control them and everyone else can enjoy the colors

Yes smart lights is a good idea. Also for now you could try the light detector sort of technology.

we have about 15 bulbs from different people all running through Alexa. They're all just as good as each other in our experience.
