My client's husband is in a nursing home, and she would really like to help with feeding him but her vision is making it difficult. I'm in some blind parenting groups, and some parents will use their opposite hand to keep track of the baby's mouth or use their pinky finger on the same hand to do that. Does anybody have other advice for feeding an adult?

I find it easier when I’m feeding my child from behind and to his right. Being behind him allows me to maneage the spoon and doing a motion from the bowl twards his mouth. Suggestion: Try finding where it's more comfortable for her to be at.

This is helpful for my clients with kids, as well, so thanks a lot!

If husband is aware she is LV than either technique will work just fine . If on the other hand husband is less than x3 I would suggest maybe letting her assist with strawed drinks and explain that less than x3 can be unpredictable

Hi, your comment wasn’t clear.

Depending on how alert and stable the husband is will depend on which way the wife can assist in feeding him.
The hand guide used with infants will work if both parties are comfortable with that style

Yes, it really does depend on how much he is involved. We'll discuss that more. Thanks a lot.
