How to apply windows mouse settings to apps/games that ignore them (self.Blind)
submitted 2d ago by Catsoverall
Hi all,

Struggling with some games and apps that decided to conpletely ignore windows extra large cursor setting making them very difficult to use. Has anyone figured this out?

###r/Blind is back up but the struggle goes on. Until we have the same access to Reddit's content as our sighted friends we insist Reddit allows us to use the apps which meet our needs.

those games or apps will be using a custom cursor built into the game or apps themselves.
If they're popular games, you might approach the modding community and see if someone can replace the cursor in the game's resources.

They're often not; i was hoping for a windows or separate app/hack 'override' function. Infuriatingly they're often the standard white windows pointer...just tiny.

The only thing you can do, besides modding, is try to reduce your resolution to make the software cursor larger.

Some older games have a "Hardware Cursor" option in the settings/options menu somewhere. If not, they might have them hidden in a plain text configuration file. You'd be looking for something like "Hardwarecursor=On" or "Set cursor=hardware".

Drop into the forums of whatever game you're having a problem with. Please let the devs know that this is a problem for the blind community. Some devs are dicks, but others just aren't aware.
