L-Dopa and schizophrenia (self.neuroscience)
submitted 12y ago by [deleted]
I have a question I can't find an answer to online. One year ago after using adderall for six months and then stopping for a couple of days, I became psychotic, started treatment with risperidone, then zyprexa, then it gradually went away over the course of a few months.

I still take a small dose of Zyprexa. I found a nootropic-stack pill that I like a lot but it has L-Dopa in it. If I were to continue taking it I'd be ingesting 2-6mg a day. I believe this is a miniscule amount, but should I completely avoid L-Dopa, with it being a precursor to dopamine?

It's worth mentioning that I also take L-theanine, which also boosts dopamine. I take ~600mg a day.
