Just glad people are paying attention when a D is in office. It was impossible to convince my friends that the atrocities at the border went just Trump things.

We should immediately send those poor people home instead of keeping them in detention.

All men are created equal, except immigrants.
BaloothaBear85 1 points 6m ago
For many home means certain death and in significant ways worse than that facility. That doesn't mean that we should not have a specific standard of care for those in the facility. The same goes for prisoners they are paying their debt to society they shouldn't least be taken care of while they are in our custody.

Just another day of the US breaking its own constitution because of scary foreigners.
Jub_Jub710 2 points 1h ago
Yep. The cruelty is the point.
Rich_Charity_3160 1 points 6m ago
You really think the Biden administration is deliberately detaining migrants illegally entering the country in substandard facilities to be cruel?
oldschoolrobot 1 points 3m ago
ICE is.

Most imprisoned population in the world...

*"They hate us for our freedom!"*

Lets just solve immigration once and for all, start issuing work visas 99% of people want to work in the US for a decade or two and then go home to retire. It benefits us and benefits them, there isn't any reason not to other than to perpetuate a constant problem that does nothing but cause issues on both sides.

Guess you don’t remember “they took our jobs!” From the early 2000s. They cycle through excuses, but it always comes down to white supremacy in the end

I've been in Louisiana this time of year. Normally it's miserable for humidity, I can only imagine what it's like during this heat dome. We need to make a decision as a country. With climate devastating farming in southern climates people will be coming north. There will be no stopping it. I'm thinking it won't be just a few but a mass migration.

This is Capitalism at work in a country where most of the citizens think they're the good guys. Little more than the most elementary understanding of economics is necessary to comprehend what drives this, what would stop it, and why it will never end.

So the conditions at the ethnic cleansing death camps are substandard, you say? I am shocked. Shocked!... well not that shocked.
Bismuth_Wizard420 3 points 1h ago
Yeah, especially since ~30% of the US population would happily support nazi style concentration camps for these people.
BwackGul 4 points 1h ago
And other people...
mlc885 1 points 12m ago
Hey now, only a portion of the 30% would admit today that they would have *you* murdered.

A large portion of the problem is insufficient empathy, though, so I think it maybe never even occurs to them that sticking supposed enemies in the gulag may not be an acceptable plan.

Yet another example of shameful practice at the hands of those state prisons housing immigrants.

>Winn Correctional Center and seven other Louisiana jails began holding thousands of immigrant detainees in ICE custody in May 2019 as President Donald Trump expanded detention of migrants and asylum-seekers.

Notwithstanding the number of complaints conditions have not become more humane.
