Total green bean here, I started about a week ago, had four days of training and started my first practice shift yesterday. My goodness the stress is real!
I guess I'm wondering if anyone has ever transferred from a drive thru location to just a cafe because their drive thru skills aren't that great? I know I'm new and I might get the hang of it, but a part of me doubts I will ever be able to take orders, while taking money, handing out drinks and putting in food all at once. I know usually during peak there are two people at drive thru and it's pretty manageable but at my store that's not always the case. Some of my partners are already annoyed of me asking so many questions and I've heard them talk about how slow I am with certain things, I just don't want to make them even more annoyed if I don't get this figured out. So I guess I'm just wondering how other people feel about drive thru?
Also, long story short, I was supposed to come in at 4AM for training, my alarm didn't go off, they called me at 4 I immediately got up and dressed and sprinted to my store since I live really close to it. Got there no later than 4:15. They had the door locked because cash was out and told me to wait just a minute, which seemed completely reasonable to me. I waited like 15 to 20 min outside watching them get the store ready and joke and stuff but I didn't see anyone near the safe or cash registers doing anything.... and they finally rushed to let me in when a cop pulled up in front of our store and stopped to see what I was doing outside... I guess I was wondering what the cash out protocol is and how long it takes? Or if I'm even allowed to know? I guess I just want to know whether they left me outside to teach me a lesson, because I definitely did!
Anyway sorry for the crazy long post, maybe I'm just overthinking it or something, this stuff has just been keeping me up at night. Any answers to any question are so greatly appreciated you guys have no idea!!! Thank you!!
