Transfer time restraint? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by CuriousGhostKitten
Hey there all! I have a question about transferring.
I'm only about three or four months into my job at Starbucks and I was hired to become a shift leader. I'll be honest at first I was just excited about the pay rate and benefits, but I've actually started to really enjoy my job. I'm currently working on my Pdp and have been made the QASA lead (Yes, I know everyone hates qasa leads. No I don't care.)
However my manager makes it very clear that he does not really care about Starbucks and wants to leave. So the whole team has a 'I don't care' attitude, except for one other shift leader (we get along very well).
So! I just don't think this is the store for me. I feel like I will try and hold the store to high standards that the higher ups would love, but without the manager backing me there's not much I can do. So my question is do I have to wait a certain amount of time before transferring to a new store? Someone told me 6 months but I've also been told stories of shift leaders who transfer after moving up.
Also do you have any tips on how to go about transferring when the time comes/any tips on what to do about this store???

Thank you!

The only people with a time restraint are store managers. The only requirements for you to transfer otherwise are that you are in "good standing," which is undefined, and that its approved by the DM and SMs involved.
