I need to quit Starbucks help!!?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Komg122314
So while I was interviewing at Starbucks I told my manager I could work weekends when school starts. The problem is that this job is severely stressing me out and I can't concentrate on school or anything. I come home from college on the weekends and I was hoping to have a weekend job but I hate working here. My shift managers have made me cry several times (in the store and out) and I get anxiety every time I'm going to work. It is destroying my mental health and don't think I can work here any longer. I told me manager that I could work weekends so I feel very bad for quitting so early on after all the time they have invested in my training. I don't know how to approach my manager on this issue but I desperately want to resign. I only have her phone number so I could call or text her but I wish I had an email.

Hey! Store manager here :) As others have said you have to do the what's right for you and it's that's leaving after a short amount of time then leave. I've got baristas that just work the weekends during term time and I've always made sure that they put their school work first as I understand that education is important for them! There's normally somebody else to pick up the hours and if your store is similar to mine you'll have a constant amount of people wanting to apply for jobs, so don't be too worried about leaving them short.
I would say to try and discuss this with your SM, and Hopefully they understand that you have needs and priorities. There may be something they can do to accommodate for you, and if not don't worry about it! You will find work at some point that you enjoy and can manage, and at this point in time it just might not be starbucks. Good luck with everything !

That's how I was with my old job I had before, I'm sorry that they have made you cry & from what it seems , not really make you feel comfortable in your work area . I work at Starbucks too, it can be so stressful , but you have to think about yourself & your health . Just text your manager & be like look, I need to put in my two weeks, school is getting to me , I need time to work on homework & such . You just have to get those big adult pants & do it . I know you'd rather not confront or talk to them & just maybe never go back or just leave it be, but it will legit consume your thoughts, your life . They could spend years on training , who cares . It's about YOU. Also , they're not gonna complain about the "training" you had . Idk if you're just a barista, or a shift . But either way, what is most important is school & YOU.

I just feel guilty for quitting after just 2 months I don't want them to think that I just did it as a summer job and lied in the interview.

Oh, sweetie I am so sorry.
When I first got hired, my store was HORRIBLE. My trainer left out important things and then cut me off early as a whole. Manager was spineless and the catty shift leads manipulated him until he quit, and those same shift leads gave me panic attacks every shift. I relate so hard.
Luckily I transferred to another store that has proven to be much better, so even if you do quit, please don't write off ALL stores, they are infinitely unique.
Honestly you could just print out your two weeks notice, walk in, and hand it to her.
"This is for you."
It doesn't have to be a lengthy discussion, love.

Who cares what they think , it's not like you're gonna leave & come back ? Trust me once you're gone, it's going to be a weight lifted off your shoulder . It's not like you knew the job was going to affect you this way . Maybe try finding the main point as to why you feel as such & work on it ..?
