Inquiry of a new barista (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by lunazep
Hey everyone, I'm on my second week and only this week got trained, but I really didn't get a lot of bar practice so I still really have no idea how to make drinks. My manager has me doing other stuff right now but I want to be ready when she asks me to go on bar. I really want to study the recipes of each drink so I'll be ready for hands on practice. Are there any resources out there for me in my situation?

In the partner hub there are apparently recipes for you to look at. Also there should be little booklets at your store filled with recipes. You should ask your manager where they are. And it takes time to get bar trained, it took about 3 months for me to finally get some bar time.

yea the recipe book at the store is good, tbh when i first worked at starbucks when i was 15 i made flash cards with the code on the front and the drink on the back so i could remember them all cause i was a keen little bitch. it actually helped so much i remembered them super fast. as for actually being on bar, ask if you can get someone to show you during a slow time. once you get the hang of it it's not to hard. i'm a supervisor and i like to let the newer people have a while practicing while it's slow.
