So I'm going to be working as a barista at the airport here in Tampa part time. of course they want me on morning shift and I know I'm going to go crazy. Couples questions just to help ease my mind.

-is the training something where they let you shadow first? Or is it all thrown at you and to the wolves you go?

-ive seen on other posts, that there is a number sequencing that some are taught with when it comes to the shots and pumps, is that the best way you learned?

-curious as to how long it took you to feel comfortable? I've been in retail at the Hardrock overnight and at the airport now for a good 8 years, so I've seen the busy, I've seen the lines that don't die down, but...is it like most jobs where you find a groove and it's second nature?

-i guess lastly, if you have any tips, advice or anything I can revert back to just to study myself. Been watching YouTube videos and such.

Thanks!

It’s going to be extremely overwhelming, and people are going to tell you, “eh soon it’ll be second nature and you won’t even think about it.”

I didn’t believe them, because it’s so much. But it’s true, and now when I’m training someone, they ask me incredulously, “how do you remember all of this???”

It takes longer than you want it to, but if you keep at it and pay attention to as much as possible, study how everyone around you works, not just your trainer, then you’ll get it in no time.

Awesome. Sounds pretty straight forward then.

You have to watch a whole bunch of videos/ training modules in the computer it teaches you the sequencing and cup markings etc Then you'll have a deidacted trainer for a few days doing everything side by side with you and then you are essentially "on your own" bit yiire on a team of you can't remember something you just ask. There's always new items and drinks and we all forget things and ask each other questions.

I wouldn't bother with YouTube videos you'll get everything from the official training
