I still have severe san hands after 4 months not working at Starbucks... Help!!! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by buzzingnbuzzed
I always had issues with the skin on my fingers while working at Starbucks. My hands would be red and raw, catch on the towels, bleed, etc. Similar to other issues I've read about.
But I haven't worked at the bucks for over 4 months and my finger tips on 4/5 of the goners on my right hand and my middle finger on my left hand are still peeling and in pain. Just yesterday my thumb split open and started bleeding like crazy. It's really painful and I don't know what to do.

I lotion multiple times a day every day, and have tried coconut oil, Aveeno, Vaseline, gold Bond, the works, and nothing is helping. Anyone had a similar experience? Any suggestions? I know I need to see a dermatologist but derms in my area are booked out for months.

Working hands. Ask at the pharmacy : ) works for me like a charm. My hands were cracked and bloody... 3 days later and they’re back to normal : )

I just wanted to add in addition to everyone’s great answers: Sephora had some hand masks that are awesome for repairing and nourishing. Also, lather your hands up (like an annoyingly ridiculous amount) with a intense moisturizing lotion and put gloves on before you go to sleep! Do it for a couple of days and it should heal your hands right up!

Corn huskers lotion or udder balm. Both can be found via the local pharmacy. My stepdad was a farmer and swears by it.

I alternate between lush’s helping hands and the body shop’s hemp hand protector. Both work really well. I seem to have the same problem you do. My hands haven’t bled since working and using these lotions.

I do two steps. A great moisturizing lotion (I use Curél Hydratherapy) followed by Auqaphor (plain Vaseline would probably work too). Do this before bed and wear thin cotton gloves to sleep in.

Vasaline cocoa butter! My husband has the same issue, and it's the only thing that's worked. O'Keefes did okay too, but this one works best.
