Supervisor interview advice? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by alpacabowl00
So as the title says I have an upcoming interview for a supervisor position. Here's a bit of background on me. I have been with the company about a year and a half. I'm constantly going past 40 hours and doing everything by the book . I have been partner of the quarter and recognized countless times for being one of our hardest workers . I know my capabilities and I'm more then qualified for the position. However, does anyone have any tips on making sure I land this thing ?

Being a supervisor is not about individual accomplishments. It's about team accomplishments. It's about having the mindset off "how do I maximize the efficiency of my team so that we all win together?". With that in mind, during your interview, don't talk about your individual success, talk about your team's success. Talk about your role in that team effort and what you were all able to do together. Talk about how you taught, coached, or mentored the members of your team to ensure continued success. Talk about how you helped someone else achieve their goals or helped them to he recognized. Don't brag about your performance. Acknowledge it if it comes up, but also acknowledge your team's part in it and turn the conversation back to them. And don't get intimidated. If you are getting the interview, you are already half way to getting the offer. Be confident and have some fun. Good luck

Honestly that was really great advice . I do all of this every day and didn't once think about it. I'm probably just letting my nerves get to me and over thinking everything . I really appreciate your comment
