Scheduled outside my availability, brought it up a week in advance and manager said it is my job to get it covered? Is this allowed? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I was scheduled for a shift outside my availability and when I brought it up with my manager she said that we don’t have the people to cover it and I would have to arrange for coverage if I can’t do it. Is that technically allowed or is it her job to get it covered since its outside my avail.? Thanks to any feedback!

If no coverage is found, you are not required to show up. Like the other comment said, take it to your DM if issues arise. I would recommend taking a photo of your approved availability so you always have it on you & can use it as proof if this were to happen again.

No. If you have a form with your availability recorded and your manager has seen it, it is their job to find coverage. Not yours. Take it to your DM because that's BS
