Help to become a shift (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hey guys, so ive been in the company for about 9 months now and I've been doing extremely well in my store. Every SSV at my store has complimented my work ethic and my attitude and have all told me they can see me becoming a shift. The only problem Is that I am moving away to university in around 4 months so I don't want to discuss with my manager how I can gradually become a shift if I'm gonna be leaving the store, could I be trained as a SSV and just not be hired as one at my store until I transfer to the new store? I'm lost please help

Best bet would be to discuss it with your manager. Since you’re transferring in 4 months, he/she might suggest you wait until just before you transfer to start the SSV training, since it is extremely common for baristas to promote, train and then transfer out. Or the alternate path would be to promote in-store now, get acclimated to becoming a shift and then transfer out in 4 months.
Ultimately the more your manager knows the better he/she can assist you. They’re there to help :)
