Have you ever had feelings for a fellow barista? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I hate just even posting about this, I feel so horrible for having these feelings. But I'm just wondering if anyone on here has ever gone through this as well.

Let me just be clear that even though I have these feelings I won't act on them. For numerous reasons, mainly just that I don't want to create an awkward or uncomfortable work environment for someone.

But yeah, I hate it. Whenever I work with the person it makes my anxiety act up. To the point I start gagging and have to take my medication to calm down. It takes a lot of constant reminding and mental slaps to keep myself from going over every 10 minutes and talking to them. But the only nice thing is that even though I may get anxious when they're there, it definitely makes the work day better.

The barista I had a crush on and I just celebrated our one year anniversary! So sometimes it works out! Or maybe you’ll end up with a super dope work friend

You’re allowed to date fellow baristas, unless it’s changed since I’ve been there. But yes, I had a relationship with another barista, luckily we worked at different stores and we would cover at each other’s store only occasionally. We were pretty shameless though, everyone knew. Once it ended, we just never worked at that store. Lol. I’ve seen it go both ways though. I’ve seen it end badly and Ive seen it lead to multiple beautiful marriages and families!

So go easy on yourself sweetie💕

Yes.
They are allowed.
Feelings are allowed.
My entire district is filled with married and dating couples.
I just recommend being upfront with your store manager should anything come of it.
I'm involved with another shift at my store, he also happens to be my housemate.
Good luck to ya!

Three of the baristas I work with used to work with their spouses - at other stores. They're all very happily married and madly in love!
