Hey anybody here know how long a former partner should wait to apply after quitting? I'm thinking of quitting my starbucks rn it's just so hard to even get a transfer. SM is a monster & so stressful. But I wanna know how long until I can reapply. Thanks

Your SM shouldn’t be able to deny a transfer for you(unless you’ve had recent corrective actions). Contact your dm and say something like “I’m having transportation issues and need to work at a store closer to my house” shouldn’t be an issue.
On the quitting note, I once quit and went back like 4-5 months later. But I went to a store where I knew the manager. Keep in mind that if you reapply within your district any manager looking at your app will likely ask your previous sm why you quit and if there were any issues.

Yeah, I dont really have any corrective actions. I'm trying to transfer near me cos I live about 25-30 mins away depending on traffic from my store and it's really hard to commute especially I live near the Naval base and traffic sucks plus there's so many stores that are 5 mins away from me. There's been several partners in my store who tried to do a transfer that he obviously denies for god knows what

I quit the company for approximately 4 months last year. I had received an externship for school, but i still had 3 classes to finish up. Juggling the paid extern + school + starbs would’ve been too intense, so I quit Starbucks briefly. I don’t think there’s a time requirement but it will most definitely look shady when new SM contacts old SM to ask about you if old SM mentions you were looking for a transfer right before you quit.
If you really need a transfer: set up a direct meeting with your DM. They actually handle 80% of the paperwork and such anyway. And def let them know your SM is being a shithead.

Thanks for the advice! I'll do but but if I tell my DM my SM is being a shithead he wont do anything. Our DM is actually pretty nice and my SM is his favorite out of all the SM in the district being the reason that our store is the busiest one in the district and also our store is the training store and test store so literally alll the asm and prospective sm's go to our store to train under my SM which is terrifying. Also we've had multiple shifts and partners go to our DM to have a sit down with my SM and tells our DM all these crap he does and ofcourse during the sitdown he maintains mutual but ofcourse my SM doesn't get in trouble for anything which is so frustrating 😤

Don’t give up! Contact your district manager first about how you’re trying to transfer. A lot of stores are reluctant to rehire.

There's no minimum time before you can be rehired. In fact, if you're rehired within 13 weeks, you retain the same rate of pay.
But, like others have said, talk to your DM. They will help.
