So many people I know who work here are in the same boat. And it isn't just one shift or one manager. Two three year partners at my old store quit, a friend of mine fights the urge to walk out, two people one a long term partner at my new store just quit. If I didn't need insurance I would go too.
It has become less about coffee and customer interaction. And more about numbers and attaining unreachable goals and speed.
My body hurts daily. I have to work two jobs to make bills. The stress isn't worth it.

I hope that things change and get better for you and for all of us but the harsh reality is that if it doesn't it is better to break up with the bux than be miserable.

(Sorry for the mini rant)

You’re definitely not wrong!! It’s just getting so bad for everyone and it’s unfortunate that it always ends up this way no matter how much starbucks tries to “fix it” we shouldn’t be this stressed out and we shouldn’t have to work more than one job just to make ends meet 😤😤

Thank you for the good wishes and I hope it gets better for you, too ❤️

I would pick up shifts in other stores around the district and see if there is one you would consider transferring to first. It's totally understandable to burn out in this industry and want to get out, but the way you describe your particular situation makes it sound like it's just the SM. A change of scenery might be what the doctor ordered.

I'm a bot, *bleep*, *bloop*. Someone has linked to this thread from another place on reddit:

- [/r/starbuckspartners] $1

Reading this post and the other comments is so disheartening. I'm currently working in a Licensed Starbucks and seriously considering applying to the full Starbucks up the street. I for the most part enjoy Starbucks but the licensee store is killing me.

Honest to god the store manager and your team can make or break your experience, i’ve only had one really great store manager but i’ve throughly enjoyed my job at least 75% of my many years I’ve worked for this company and it’s just recently that it’s become bad again. My main complaint is that we don’t get paid enough for everything that upper management puts on us and all of the tasks that we are required to complete. Don’t let this post discourage you, I would most definitely try it out especially if you are unhappy where you are, the worst that can happen is you’re equally as unhappy and then you’ll just have to find something else but you never know you might just love it!!!! ❤️

I’m so sorry you have to go through that... I’m sadly going through the same but it’s been tough at my Starbucks ever since I got here. One day I was so stressed I went to the bathroom just so nobody could see me cry.. and now everyone there basically knows I want to leave. But they’re trying to manipulate me into staying with how short staffed the store is and how I have to learn how to adjust to bad conditions at times.

Thank you :/ That’s not fair and you definitely shouldn’t stay if you are miserable even if they are short staffed!!! You and your mental health come first ❤️ I hope everything works out

Thank You ❤️ And same to you!! I know this is hard for all of us who are going through it, but I always keep saying to myself “Diamonds are made under pressure!” So in the end I know we all will be fine. :)
