Are you the type who will just serve a drip brew when someone asks for a "normal coffee" or the type that will explain every type of coffee which can be seen as a "normal coffee"?

Lol. I’ll get back to you in a few weeks about that.

New-ish barista here ... i always do drip. no point in confusing/irritating people i guess. Am i wrong?

Well yes and no. In most places (around here in Europe at least) whenever you visit a café or restaurant, you'll be served a café crema, tapped out of an espressomachine, which is considered to be more luxurious, but not served by starbucks. Drip brew is usually served wherever coffee is free of charge like some work places or cantines. So after serving drip brew as a normal coffee, you'll find lots of unemptied cups all around the cafe when doing your bussing routine.

So yes it might come across as annoying but a bigger chance of satisfaction for the customer.

Interesting! I’m from Oregon, USA and usually “normal coffee” is a drip brew and not as expensive as an espresso drink.

When asked for a regular normal coffee I just offer a brewed coffee. Mostly that’s a pike.
