I'm curious what starbucks baristas around the US make as starting hourly pay.
Recently transferred across country, and was frustrated with the lack of transparency of the starting pay-- to be fair, I stupidly didn't ask when we were setting up the transfer, but it seems like something that Starbucks should share with partners when they're looking on career center?
To start, I make 12$ an hour outside Boston rn, and made 15.50$ an hour in downtown Seattle.

It all has to do with the minimum wage and cost of living.

Well yeah, but I wish they would be more transparent about it-- I'm curious where in the country has the best ratio of starting pay over median income or cost of living. And then I'll transfer there :P

13/hour. Pittsburgh. Licensed store in an airport. Plus daily tips,

I'm surprised that a licensed store would be more. Always thought that licensed stores got the short straw of everything.

They used to start baristas at 10.25 hourly. Apparently, management at this particular location was going down hill prior to my hire date. Management just did not care and corporate Starbucks got involved. Current management has turned the store around and is doing much better. Corporate is constantly on our case and we work very closely with them. My boss started hiring people in at this rate because she needed good workers and that is a pretty decent salary for this type of job in this particular area. We have a pretty strong team at this point and I do believe they are going to lower wages for fresh hires soon. We have a really high turnover rate because a lot of people come to this job thinking that all Starbucks employees do is pour coffee.

When I worked at a corporately owned store, it was 9.50 an hour.
