Any good strategies for memorizing the menu before I start? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Honestly, you're not gonna be able to before you start. Just head into it, understand there are always new drinks you will hear about, and practice knowing the different types of drinks and what makes them unique.
You are starting on ringing, right? That is where you will best know the drinks because people will just ask for them. You will eventually get it all down.
But my best recommendation to memorize the harder ones (it took me forever to learn what a flat white is and what made it different than an ordinary latte, I do not know why) is to just keep studying the recipe cards for the basic drinks in your down time, if you ever get any. Or even just open up the app and scroll through the menu and just click on things.
The Starbucks "Secret Menu" is always something people will ask about (even though it doesn't technically exist) and you will get that person at least once a day asking for a "Snickers Bar Frappuccino" or a "Captain Crunch Frappuccino" and that will just come around when it comes around.
Good luck, and have fun! A very large majority of it is just learning on the spot, so don't feel bad if you don't get it right away

Just learn it on the job. Don’t work off the clock.

Honestly, this is the best answer. Don't work for free, your time is worth something.

On the flip side, once you actually are on shift, in downtime you can use the register or the mobile app as a resource for testing yourself on drinks-- both mediums detail the recipe of any drink you add to the cart-- like for a grande vanilla latte it will say 2 shots of espresso, 4 pumps vanilla syrup, steamed 2% milk.

download the app and look thru the different drinks to get a basic idea of how much of what goes in what
