Pay day?!? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Jshippy12
I started my training on 10/2 and it’s now 10/21 and I haven’t gotten paid yet. My global cash card came with $62 on it, but I don’t know where that came from. My theory is it’s from the few hours that I went in to get my uniform and do my first taste and fill out all of the legality forms a week or two before my training started. So, I guess I got paid for that but nothing else yet. My SM and I have been playing phone tag for the last 2 days, so I doubt I’ll be able to get ahold of him anytime soon. Can anyone clarify when I should get my first real pay?

It’s possible that you started in the middle of the pay cycle, which would make perfect sense as to why you haven’t received the rest of your pay yet. It should be on your next pay check. Either way, look at your pay stubs and it will say the dates of the pay period and you can confirm your hours.

Pay day is bi-weekly, and covers the previous 2 weeks before the week of pay day. Pay cycles aren’t the same across the nation. So if you’re on the pay cycle that got paid on the 12th, it’d be for Sept 24-Oct 7. If you’re on the pay cycle that got paid on the 19th, it’d be for Oct 1st - Oct 14. This isn’t exact information, I’m just using it as an example. Once you figure out your actual pay day you can count on the previous two weeks being on your next paycheck, and the week of payday will be on your next check. Hope this helps.

Well then no matter which cycle I’m on, I did not get paid properly. Thanks!

No problem, I should add that I have no idea how the global pay card works. Best bet is to check with your manager, you can also view all of your time punches in the labor self service, and see if a day or two got missed, they should be able to show you how. I always double check on Sunday that all my punches for the week went through just to make sure.
