It's a misconception that espresso has high caffeine content-- each shot has only 75 mg, so even an iced venti espresso drink (3 shots) only has a little bit more caffeine than a tall coffee.
The most caffeine you can get in a regular starbucks drink (aka without adding a bunch of shots) is to get a venti blonde roast (475mg). For comparison, a venti doubleshot only has 375, trenta iced coffee only has 280, venti americano has 300, and a trenta cold brew has 330.

For pure caffeine content, nothing comes close to black coffee. Iced black coffee may have more then the hot varieties, I'd have to double check. For taste, it all comes down to preference

Americano's are made with shots of espresso and water. Esspresso contains aproxamitely 75 mg of caffeine per shot. Black coffee contains approximately 20 mg of caffeine per ounce. So for a grande sizes, which is 16 ounces, an americano which contains 3 shots would have approx 225 mg of caffeine. The same size black coffee would contain approx 320 mg of caffeine.

A Starbucks Doubleshot. Espresso shots with classic syrup and ice shaken up and milk on top. My favorite pick me up when I want a strong coffee taste and caffeine. I like to customize with vanilla syrup and soy milk.
