Question about Starbucks pay? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by itsrolo98
I’m currently a Walmart supervisor but I’m considering a management position in Starbucks. However, I do have a couple questions. 1. Are the assistant managers and store managers salaried or hourly? What’s the hourly rate/salary? Also, how well would I spare in competition? I’m currently a manager for a Walmart store that brings in over $50M a year. I supervise the entire front end that consists of about 40 cashiers, the cart pushers, door greeters, and maintenance associates. I’m also in charge of the seasonal layaway program.

If you look up wages and salaries on Glassdoor for your area, they're actually very accurate. It depends a lot on the market. In Philly iirc the average was $30k for ASM but in neighboring states it's more like $38k because the stores are all more remote and it's not as saturated.

P.S. holiday season is tough at the bux. I'd recommend so applying in January. We get a lot of turnover post holiday.

Ps- I’m not really interested in having my own store atm. But, the asm position intrigued me.

Just FYI if you don't know this-- the ASM position really is just a SM in training-- they usually are in the ASM job for I believe 6-8 months and then are placed at another store. Don't know about Salary vs Hourly, but I believe on average a SM's income comes to 50K a year.
