Transferring from seattle to another state(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by GalStar707
I'm looking to move in the spring and someone told me that because I'm coming from Seattle that where I go my wage would be a little higher. Has anyone had this experience transferring out of Seattle?

I was in the process of transferring from an Eastern Washington store where I got $14/hr to a Florida store where I would have made $10. They told me that even though I made more in WA, they have set rates for areas and that’s what I would be changed to, regardless of previous wage. (I found a better job with no customers so I never completed the transfer.)

If you're lucky they might let you keep your wage if it isn't too drastic.

It could be higher, but it could also be lower. Call the store and find their starting rate - you'll be moved to that, within a few cent range.

Transferred from Seattle to outside Boston three months ago. Wage was starting wage in Boston, no bump for having worked in Seattle
