I’d definitely try adding hot water first (tbs of water per tbs of powder), powder won’t incorporate well in the drink. If your cocoa powder is unsweetened that’d effect the taste too. If that still doesn’t taste right, If I were you I’d make it in larger batches and store it in squeeze bottles. 1.5 cups of boiling water, 3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa, and 1 cup of sugar whisked together is the best I’ve come to imitating the sauce.
