That's going to vary based on your store and how many partners you have on the floor at any given time. For example, when there are three of you on the floor, you will have one on customer support, one will typically be doing all drink production, and then the register partner will be doing everything else. But when you have 4 or 5 on the floor, that will change and register partner might be planted on register and not responsible for anything else. Check with your SM and shift supervisors when you are deployed and ask them what you are speceficly responsible for.

Just to add on to this: what crafty_one is referring to are called plays-- like a four person play might include a register, a bar, a customer support, and an order support. In this case, when I'm on register, my job is to stay planted at register and trust that my support will do warming, gathering, etc--if anything, in down moments when I'm planted where there is no line, I might clean up the area right around me, restock the stuff easily available, but that's dependant on me being able to drop it immediately if a new customer walks in.

The biggest thing to remember is communication-- both with your other partners and your customers. When you're deployed in register, ask if you have an order support/ what you're responsible for. With customers, when you have support, get in the habit of educating them on what to expect so they don't get antsy-- "Brian is getting your coffee and will have it right out" or "Maria is throwing your banana bread in the oven and will have it on the other side of the bar." When you don't have support, always remember you are still responsible for being the first partner a customer interacts with, and communicate that they are seen and welcomed-- "Hi Sir, I'll be with you in just a sec." "Hi ma'am, how are you today? Let me just grab the oven and then I'll take your order."

When I’m on front I’m typically responsible for making sure we always have fresh coffee, warming and handing off pastries for the front, keeping the front clean, keeping the cafe and condiment bar clean and stocked, and keeping the bathroom clean and stocked and don’t forget to brew your teas and pour your coffee!

Some of these jobs are really customer supports job but at my store we don’t always have CS so you also help keep the bar stocked up as well.

But the biggest tip I always give my people on front is read back the order to make sure you have it right. It really throws the bar partner out of their groove when they have to remake a drink it’s still going to happen but reading back the order helps to stop that.
