Does anyone have any advice in trading new partners that are a little slower and not catching on as quickly??? The whole store has tried to train him properly but he’s just not getting it and I’m running out of ideas

I've lost track of the partners I've trained, I've dealt with 2 of these situations before as the manager and unfortunately you haven't got too much of a choice but to pat them on the back and just let them understand this isn't for them. It's not for everyone, so long as you've tried, you've followed all the training guides and also the training plan then there's nothing else for it sadly.

Yeah I’m thinking it’s about that time to have a conversation with my manager. I’m currently a supervisor and he has been trained all week but just isn’t catching on to it.

Your manager will most likely need to wait till the end of at least one month to please the Starbucks god's, but after that if they are smart they'll find someone else and let this young man move on too

My shift had me study a lot off the clock and quizzed me on things like how long certain things are good for, or the drink sequence. I had a new partner who was having a hard time learning drinks (amount of shots, syrups, etc) go through the mobile app since it tells you the content of the drink and had her study that to better learn the drinks. Whenever the store was slow I’d have other partners give me random drinks so that I could learn my way around the POS. Just some ideas!

Sometimes it takes a little longer than the allotted week, give tons of support. As soon as I am free from my hellish shift, I will try a hand at a more helpful response.

Throw them at the Frap station, it’s how we trained newbies when I used to work at Starbucks, it’s normally the busiest and gets them to learn under pressure but also quick rate.
Had 7 partners who became good baristas just by starting there
