My shift supervisor humiliated me front of the customers (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by SirKael
Hi, I speak spanish so sorry for my bad english, but anyway.
For accident I couldn't go to work with my blue jeans (part of the dresscode here) I did wrong and I know. But when I arrived at my store, the shift supervisor angered me and in front of the customers she kicked me out of the store.
I feel bad, what do you think?

PD: I was wearing black jean pants with light contrast

That’s Very unprofessional, Your supervisor should have talked to you privately in the back the right way if there was a problem with your clothing. You should take it up with your manager privately and let them know what happened and how it made you feel.

Your shift supervisor is a fucking asshole. I'm sorry that happened.

Yes it’s legal. It’s up to the shift if you’re sent home or not. I usually warn people a couple of times before sending them home or tell them to change.

I would have definitely pulled you into the back for that conversation, and as long as you weren’t a repeat offender of the dress code I would definitely let something that little slide for a day. Also with the new partner lookbook those pants sound like appropriate dress code. Not sure without more info.

black jeans are part of the new dress code i would talk to the distract manager about it and let them know how you felt begin yelled at in front of the customer and maybe mention that was not the appropriate action

Honestly all he had to do was pull you to the side and say “hey, you’re not wearing the proper jeans. Next time just be sure to come in the appropriate attire”
