Don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask for help when you get overwhelmed! I was hesitant to tell anyone when I was feeling out of my depth, but once I started asking my partners to help me, we all worked better as a team

Learn to read body language and how to interact with each customer based on this. You’ll only learn this with time, but this is the best advice I can give you.

Treat every customer the way you would want to be treated, if they come back with a mistake, just apologize and take ownership, then assure them you’ll get it fixed.

This is important. Most people expect push back when they are put in this situation, and it can be hard not to get defensive. But if you don’t question them, even if it was their fault, they’ll be surprised and trust you. You’ll become their favorite because you listen to them.

I make plenty of mistakes, there’s so many factors to why someone isn’t happy with their order. I don’t care anymore who’s fault it is, because what it comes down to, is how you handle it. People who feel like they’re a VIP are infinitely more patient and understanding in the future. Also it helps your tips go up.

Just be prepared for all kinds of things to not go correctly. I would focus on problem solving skills or your ability to handle stress to be honest.
