Leave of Absence advice (self.starbucksbaristas)

Does anyone have experience taking a leave of absence for medical reasons? I need to have a surgery that would require 8 weeks of recovery time, it’s not life threatening, but important that I get it done. However, I just started Nov 1, so I’m worried that the higher ups would just cut their losses.

Hey there! I’ve worked at sbux for a while and took a leave of absence for like 2 1/2 months. I believe you have to be employed for at least 3 months to be able to get leave of absence but I could be wrong. Most likely if you talk to your manager they would be more than willing to work with you if you explain your situation! Hope this helps! :)
