What to do when not getting the amount of requested hours as a minor? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I currently have been asking to work the max amount of hours that Starbucks minors are allowed to work which is 24 hours a week. I’m struggling to make my car payments because I only receive 18-20 hour weeks. I constantly ask my manager to up my hours and he doesn’t. What do I do?

Weekend availability is where you can bank the most hours for sure. Also, see if you can reach out to other stores in your district to pick up shifts! I often pick up shifts at other stores, some districts even have a circulating “call list” on their email with partners who are looking for extra hours. When I was super desperate I even stopped by stores and left my name and cell phone on a post-it for partners to post next to their schedule for people looking for coverage. Good luck <3

Definitely sit down with your SM and reiterate your willingness to work!

You can ask others on shift if they want to split a shift with you, or pick up hours on the weekends.

First of all what is your staff situation? Are there enough, are you over staffed?
Secondly what is the business like? Are you guys struggling to cope or is everything going alright?
And finally are you an older member of the team? As in how long have you been there and in what area of experience do you stand.
