Transferring to a location in a college town or near to your University can be very tough. There are going to be litterally hundreds of barista's trying to transfer into the stores closest to campus and spots will be limited. My advice would be to start building relationships with the SM's now so that come transfer time you will have a better chance. The good news is that come mid term, there are gonna be a lot of barista's that have quit or moved on due to the demands of college, so if you aren't able to transfer initially, try again around that time. (Source: had one of my partners try to transfer to a store by his college freshman year who went through this exact scenario: was unable to transfer at start of term, so quit. Was then able to get rehired midterm as that SM was desperate to replace the barista's that could not handle having a job and going to college at the same time)
