Customers usually don’t cause problems, but just in case there is an issue, it’s okay to inform them you are new. On my second day, I was yelled at by an old women because she wanted her cappuccino bone dry, which basically means no milk, just foam. Now I know that, but with my first drink she was so angry and I was like “How else am I suppose to learn?”

Some tips tho:
It can get crazy so don’t be afraid to ask for help. And never feel bad about making a drink wrong. The drinks can be hard to memorize at first. I’m a 4 month partner and I still can’t grasp every single drink we sell.

Good luck!

I second the person who said don’t be afraid to tell customers you’re new. I’ve only been with Starbucks for 6 weeks and I have a million questions. People order drinks I’ve never heard of every day. It’s all just a learning experience.

When you feel more comfortable with the POS, play around with the different drink options. My partners would quiz me by ordering drinks and having me ring them up. Just take it slow and ask alllllllll the questions. Good luck! You’ll do great!

Focus on the drink infront of you. Sequencing will come eventually and your supervisors will usually attempt to help you by setting up your milks and stuff
