Question about price of health insurance (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by HappilyGia
I know different plans have different deductibles, but what I’m wondering is - what is the monthly cost deducted from your paycheck for the average plan? I don’t yet work there and so don’t have a log in to check, but want to check out the benefits before I get serious about applying and don’t want to focus my interview on that as it seems like it could be off-putting

While it does vary on insurance company and type, it can go as high as the hundred range or as low as 20's. Everything including dental and vision for me is around $60 per check but you can defienetly do cheaper!

Starbucks is the only company I’ve ever worked in that lets partners choose between multiple insurance companies and levels of coverage. I had my choice of Cigna, United Healthcare, Kaiser, and one other that I can’t recall right now... and each company had different tiers. There was a customizable priority survey that brought up my top three best fits (based on what I was willing to spend and what I needed). I chose the one that included the doctors I already knew, and have been very happy. Cost is relevant to what you need, and I find Starbucks insurance to be comparable and even a little less than other companies.
